Frequently Asked Questions Our chef, Halimah, answers some common concerns...
1) How can you make cakes without butter or eggs? Our cakes are mainly made from flour, corn oil and soy milk and sugar. We do not use any animal derived products in our cakes.
2) Are your cakes vegan certified? While there is a lot of awareness for vegetarianism in Singapore, the awareness for veganism is quite limited. Therefore, vegan certified products are not as easily obtainable and are also costly. However, a list of E numbers and food additives not suitable for vegans is permanently lodged in my bag.
3) What type of sugar do you use? We choose to use normal white sugar simply because it is economical and this savings can be passed down to our customers. However, if you prefer us to make your cakes with unbleached organic sugar, feel free to inform us and we will customize the cakes accordingly.
4) Is your cake gluten-free? Our main focus is to provide vegans an opportunity to enjoy desserts that they otherwise would miss. Currently, we do not make gluten-free cakes, though we are planning to introduce them in the future.
5) How long ahead must I place my order? We appreciate a two week lead time, but if there are urgent requests, please feel free to call or email us and we will try our very best to accommodate.
